If you look here right at the very last line it gives Imígí faoi shíocháin and that's from a Catholic Mass. As far as Eaglais na hÉireann is concerned, I've not got any order of service sheets except Leabhar na hUrnaí Cointinne but the book is vast and has lots of different orders of service in it and I couldn't find the same "Go in peace..." yet I know that it is definitely said (in English) at the end of the service. I've been to a few Eaglais na hÉireann services in Irish but can't remember what was said |
What I've got is the 1984 Alternative Service book, and it only gives one order for the Celebration of Communion (aka, the Mass). I don't know which is more widely used, though.
I do know that at Anglican services here in the U.S. "Go in peace to love and serve the Lord" is the usual dismissal, with the response being "Thanks be to God," which parallels what the EnahÉ prayer book I have says (the "imígí faoi shíocháin" bit)
I believe that's what was used at the Irish Mass we had here back near St. Patrick's Day as well (that one was Roman Catholic).
