You missed the point in all the posts lach - It wasn't a questions of tú/thú (both fine) but nach bhfuil/nach!

Rolling around the floor laughing

By the way:

In all dialects, "tú" (without h) is used when it is the subject of the verb (ie. déanann tú, bíonn tú)

However, when is the direct object of a verb (is múinteoir thú), it can be optionally aspirated. However, the unaspirated tú is also acceptable in this situation.

I'm not 100% sure which is the standard between tú/thú - I think both are "standard Irish", and it boils down to personal preference.

On earlier threads, we talked about our pets. Now we can do it using both tá and is:

Tá peata agam Is madra é. Tá sé dubh agus bán. Tá sé cairdiúil. Agus tá peata ag mo mhadra féin. Is cat é. Tá sé oráiste agus bán. An bhfuil peata agat?

Remember, when you associate two nouns (he = dog, he = cat), you can't use tá. If you don't have a pet, you can make one up, or talk about anything you like.
