Here's one for you all from the folks at The Session:
A person is looking for a translation of the name of a tune, which he has as "Nead na Lachan sa Mhúta." My guess is that it should be "Nead an Lacha sa Mhuta" (FGB gives "muta" as a variant of "buta," meaning "cask," so this would work out to "the duck's nest in the cask/barrel," which makes some sense). Nothing else I can come up with makes any sense..."láchán" means "foolishly amiable person" and "láchan" means "dawning," and "múta" means "lout," but none of those work at all given "Nead."
Any thoughts? Here's a link to the actual thread at The Session:

The Ducks Nest in the Mote ( close enough ) It's a kid's song with the melody of The Fox Hunt - Return from the Hunt (Jig).
Sometimes sung in the classroom.
