If someone could spare the time, could you please translate: "oh my goodness you're a genius! Thank you! I throw heather in the air in your honor."

Thanks!

Heather. Makes me think you want Scottish Gaelic. Or Irish? And do you want to be sarcastic or straighforward?

For example, Irish and straightforward:

Och mo Dhia, tá tú i do shaoi thar cách! Go raibh maith agat! Caithim fraoch in airde le hurraim duit.

Of course, I guess that could be taken sarcastically in Irish as well.

By the way, is this a traditional way of honouring someone?

Wait for more input for corrections, etc.

Cheers

Tim

I suppose I don't know whether I want Scottish Gaelic or Irish Gaelic. Hmm. I'd like the connotation to be straightforward.

I doubt that it's traditional, it's something my friend said to me in an e-mail. I had given her an English translation of a song in Irish Gaelic, and she said the whole thing about thowing heather, and asked me how you say that in Gaelic.

So yeah, that's the story. Thanks for the help!

OK, very clear. Well, we can give you Irish and some may be able to give you Scottish Gaelic. Wait a bit more for retribution. Laughing

Cheers
