I'm in the process of painting my front porch both inside and out and am aiming towards a bit of an Irish theme and I like "wordy bits". Of course it will sound rather "hoakey" to some of you but you will just have to come over for a visit one day to check it out!! haha

I am requesting that you all give me your favourite quotes/proverbs/phrases of wisdom that are Irish in theme or origin and with the translation and pronunciation. And the author as well where applicable.

Please and thankyou.

Sláinte!!

Never been into the seanfhocail myself but I don't mind Ní íseal ná uasal ach thíos seal agus thuas seal. Upper class and lower class is but a good patch/stretch/period and a bad patch/stretch/period
