Hello all,

If I can, I would like to get "May Hell greet you with open arms" translated into Gaelic, and possibly the pronunciation aswell if that's not to much trouble. I Have plans to write it down the shaft of my bow Thanks Very Happy

There is an excellent native curse which although not exactly what you request is IMHO much nastier!

Go ndeine an diabhal dréimire de chnámh do dhroma! - May the devil make a ladder from your backbone!

Gu NyENNA a'GEE-il DRAY-mira - d' CRAW-a du GROMM-a

A phól,

The subjuntive is Go gcuire

Though I live the idea of Kelly's welcome - I know a fair few Kelly's and for the most part I can see where the phrase came out of! Twisted Evil

In 1351 William O'Kelly invited all the poets and musicians of Ireland to spend Christmas with him. Such was the generosity of his welcome that the poet Geoffraidh Fionn O'Dalaigh composed a long poem commemorating the event. From this poem comes the famous 'Failte Ui Cheallaigh' (the O'kelly Welcome) which has ever since been used to describe the 'welcome of all welcomes':
