Tá Dia gra buanseasmhacht
God's love is persistent *I think*
Tá Dia gra síoraí
God's love is endless

I know that the genitive here is wrong, but I can't do it.
Shouldn't it be something like:
Tá grá Dia....? _________________ "Dúid" Breatnach an tí. Is Breatnach deas mé.

It's "Dé."
I'd say "Is é an ghrá Dé síoraí" but don't quote me on that...I'm still struggling with copula sentences.

Well, mine may be wrong too (and isn't quite what the poster asked for). The important thing to remember, though, for this kind of thing is you need the genitive. "The love OF God." "The hands OF God." And so forth.

Is a great place to find the genitive form of a word. After that, what you need to know is:
It comes AFTER the word it modifies. Irish says "teach Sheáin" for example for "Seán's house."
If an article is needed, how it is used will depend on the gender and number of the word you're putting in the genitive case:
Masculine singular: "an" (no mutation)
Feminine singular: "na" (no mutation)
Plural (both genders): "na" (causes eclipsis).

If it's any help at all this is how to work out a genitive in Welsh and it seems to be similar in Irish, although Irish "changes" the noun:
The boy's cap = the cap of the boy.
Cross off the first 'the' and the 'of' and you have your basis for a genitive construction - cap the boy.
The problem with English speakers is the you keep the Saxon genitive (boy's cap) but this is the wrong order for Celtic genitives.
Does that help at all? I hope so. _________________ "Dúid" Breatnach an tí. Is Breatnach deas mé.

Don't worry about that so much, very few things translate exactly from English to Irish and vice versa. _________________ Slán go fóill,
