Hi everyone,

I want to get a tattoo of my favorite phrase "hope guides me" and was told that "treoracha tá súil agam" is the translation. I just wanted to double check this before I permanently add this to my body...thanks for the help!

Nah, that says, "Guidemarks I hope". Definitely NOT what you want to ink.

Try:

Treoraíonn an dóchas mé literally "hope guides me" (I see julius also arrived at this independently in an old thread: http://www.irishgaelictranslator.com/tr ... 58758.html)

Other ideas from Caffler (also in that previous thread):

An dóchas mo threoraí "Hope is my guide"

Giollaíonn an dóchas mé "Hope leads me"

None of these has been confirmed. an dóchas mo threoraí has more of an Irish feel about it, perhaps.

Await further input...
