I would like a translation for a Irish window display,it's for a hairdressers, if anyone could help that would be great. It does not have to read as I have written, just on the same idea.

St. Partick may have banished the snakes from Ireland but Madusa still rears her ugly head from tine to time.


Don't look to closely or you may turn to stone.

It's not a hairdresser she needs it's a miracle.

I have found this site to be very helpful in the past but this is the first time I've had to ask for help as this wasn't under Freq translations. You are all doing great work, thank you.

I suggest:

Cé gur dhíbir Naomh Pádraig na nathracha nimhe as Éirinn, ardaíonn Medúsa a ceann gránna ó am go ham

Christy: I think you left out "nathracha" Also "Ardaíonn a ceann"

I am so glad of all your help, I have been helping different shops in my local town take part in Comórtas na bhFuinneog, The aim of the competition is to promote the use of the Irish language during Seachtain na Gaeilge. Last year only 2 shops in town took part and I had been chatting to one of the people that runs the competition and he had asked me to help get more people involved. I have some spoken Irish but my written Irish is very bad so I needed lots of help. I asked some of the teachers in the local school to get the children to make up signs and posters and then went around the town to get more people to take part. With the offer of some help everyone was very keen. This year 15 shops (about 80%) are taking part. When I went back with the signs most places had already made up some signs themselves,it was great to see everyone so happy to take part. The hairdressers had made up a model of medusa so I thought I should get a sign for them after they had put so much work into it thus the call for help.
This is a wonderful site and a great resource for people like me, keep up the great work.
