been a while since i've been here. any more insight on this?

All I can say is that the translations offered above are quite nice. The grammar looks correct. There is an old argument about whether croí should be singular or plural in the first one but I'd say they're fine as they are.

thank you all for the translations, i just have one more question. whenever i see gaelic written, the characters look different than that of the normal latin alphabet. found a list of characters here http://www.identifont.com/samples/linot ... Gaelic.gif and was wondering if it is safe to just use that as a reference to design my tattoo?

If you're talking about fonts, you can check to the left of the screen. It's just a matter of preference, you can pick any one that you like. You can also go to a website created by one of our regulars, David, and see which fonts you like..

If you're going to use that type of font, you may also want to use dots above letters in place of a 'h' after them. If you cut and paste this into Ellipsix, it should give you the dots:

Looks pretty good to me.

However, since you have three different lines of text, I suppose you could drop the comma after the second line and use a capital I in the last line.

This is no different to English in that if you feel this must be seen as one grammatically correct sentence then what you have may be correct. Just seems odd or unnecessary to have a comma at the end of a line in a tattoo. Or maybe it's because if it is to be a proper sentence, then the second line shouldn't start with a capital letter either...maybe. (i.e. the name is part of the one sentence which you have broken into three lines, and if it is, then maybe the name should be followed by something like a semi-colon). Redwolf, where are you?

Anyway, I'm sticking with my suggestion which is underlined.
