Could someone please help me translate the following; "My life is beset not by the boundries of others." I have thought up this phrase and wish to use it as a tattoo. Thank you.

Do you mean "My life is not set by the boundaries of others"?
"beset" means "besiege", "surround", or "attack on all sides". You seem to be using it to mean "defined" or "set", but that's not really right.

Basing things on wombat's sensible interpretation, perhaps something like: Ní taobh istigh de chríocha na saolta a bhíonn ag daoine eile a leagtar mo shaol féin amach....my life is not laid out within the limits of other lives.... ...odd thought!!!!... begod it's almost making sense to me now...

Ní leagtar mo shaol amach le teorannacha daoine eile
Ba mhaith liom lámh chúnta a thabhairt d'éinne atá ag foghlaim agus ba mhaith liom déanamh amhlaidh mé fhéin.

I was trying to say that I will not surrond myself by the boundries that others set for themselves. I'm not sure what the easiest way to translate it would be. Thank you.
