Hello I am trying my best to get the meaning of my brothers name ( Darren ) translated into traditional Irish Gaelic. the Meaning of his name that I have been most selective of is " Great " so I am trying to get the word GREAT translated.
so bottom line what i was hoping to get translated is the word GREAT or GREAT ONE. If able to find out DARREN that would be great to know as well I know there maybe certain symbols above or below a letter that would effect the pronunciation and they are as well very important that I get them right. I want this to be as original as it can so that my family back home will understand it.
Thanks in advance

Yep, mór is the Irish for "great". Names don't change in translation, though. David

It depends on context. But I'd favour "iontach". As "mór" can also mean "big".

Another possibility:
Great one = Sár-fhear
Warning: Reasonable command of Irish - but I still make basic errors.
