If it's any consolation to you, there are many French football supporters who are just as insensed and angry about it, and are feeling just as ashamed and cheated as you do. I've been going through the on-line letters pages of newspapers such as l'Equipe (the Sports Paper), and they're not happy. The last time round, the French national team went to South Korea and got ejected almost immediately, so the opinion here is that it's far from certain that they'll be doing any better in South Africa. I seem to remember that England were eliminated by Croatia or was it Roumania?

well the ref should have called it off side first as that cheat was def off side when the ball was struck . and what more evidence does fifa want even a blind man could see he handed the ball and pushed it virtually into the net quite honestly i think there should be a inquiery and i think the game should be re played or france thrown out of the world cup and banned from playing in any other internationl game for cheating .do what there do for them drug users ban them for life

I can honestly say, as a South African, that I am now NOT a “proud supporter of the FIFA World Cup”
If I was the president of SA, I would give FIFA an ultimatum : Give Ireland the respect and glory they deserve AND penalize the French team for the atrocious actions OR take your World Cup elsewhere.
(but morals like these prevent me from going into politics)
