It's not an Irish version of Benjamin...it's a native Irish name.

Benjamin is Hebrew. I don't know how "Benjamin" is rendered in An Bíobla Naofa, but if anyone wants to look it up, that would be much better than using "Breandán."

An Sloinnteoir Gaeilge gives Beiniaimín for Benjamin. Brendán is not the same name at all

I know my name is not irish but my wife wants to get a tattoo of my name in irish as my background is irish. I came across this forum and posted the question.
