Breandán
Im not sure its a direct Irish version of Benjamin, but from what I understand some use this |
|
It's not an Irish version of Benjamin...it's a native Irish name. Benjamin is Hebrew. I don't know how "Benjamin" is rendered in An Bíobla Naofa, but if anyone wants to look it up, that would be much better than using "Breandán." No its not the same name, but I know people who use it in place.

The Irish used "cheating frog handed frenchman" for thierry, so why not? maybe Benjamin wants to weigh in here?

Looks like your best bet would be Beiniaimín then

Biniáimin in the Irish bible.
Note that I am only a learner of Irish. Wait for confirmations! Ná hinis an bhréag chéanna rómhinic; b'fhéidir go dtógfaí ar son na fírinne í. Is é The Swell Season an rud is fearr as Éirinn faoi láthair. Is é Dara Ó Briain an tÉireannach is greannmhaire ar talamh an domhain. ![]() |
