Sorry, for posting another thread.

But I'm just talking to my friend in Co. Down, and his little brother went to a school that taught Irish, and when he went on web cam with his brother, he'd show off all the Irish he learnt in school. (So adorable)

But I just found out, that the new head mistress abolished Irish :o :o :o :o :o

Her reasoning was that it wasn't a valuable course, did not provide any useful knowledge to students, and was a waste of the schools resources.

I'm going to send her an email :< and it's not going to be nice.

Down county council was given an award last year for improving the availability of irish, and if i am right, i think they have the highest amount of irish schools per population... but that is all from memory... someone may research it and tell me i'm wrong

It's a very unusual move, what was the school called and we can find out more info.... start a campaign!

"invaluable" actually means "beyond value", so in other words, "very valuable"

Is fearr Gaeilge cliste ná Béarla briste. Image
