This is a special request for a cancer sufferer in Brisbane. Australia. Could someone translate this request into the Irish language . please. " Mother, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand"

Redwolf. I am deeply indebted to you for your prompt reply. I do not personally know this cancer sufferer, but I have a feeling that this person is Irish like myself, who attends the Oncology Dept in the Mater Hospital Brisbane. It was a request made by an Oncology nurse on their behalf, when she heard my Irish accent. It's a bit "Irish" I suppose saying you are Irish, when you are unable to speak your mother tongue? Anyway, you have made my day and I look forward to my next appt. at the hospital armed with the translation. A sincere thanks . Jim Ryan.

You're very welcome, Jim.

Tenebre, the oncology department is where cancer is treated. A cancer specialist is an oncologist.

BTW, getting cancer has nothing to do with the weather.

Don't people get Cancer from the Sun? Pretty sure Cancer is like a big thing here in Australia, especially in Queensland which is the sunshine state.

Tenebre, skin cancer is caused by sun damage, yes. But it takes years for the damage to accumulate. So if people are out in the sun without protection now, they probably won't know for decades whether or not it caused them to get skin cancer.

Exactly. :ja:

MOST cancers have nothing to do with the sun. Lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease, leukemia, various brain tumors, etc. etc.

It would help if you educated yourself a bit about cancer.
