I suspect these are for homework. Forum rules are that students are required to attempt the translation first and then post it here before they receive any help from us (and even then, it's just HELP...we don't do the translation for them).
I suggest we stop answering these until emf clarifies what they are for. Redwolf ...agus déanfaidh mé do mholadh ar an gcruit a Dhia, a Dhia liom! Salm 43:4

I am helping my son with his 1st year, secondary school Irish. He had Caillteamar an cluiche inne. I didn't think it looked correct so I decided to ask for help (its a long time since I did Irish) Sorry I didn't know the rules as I'm new. I don't allow my sons to access the site. Thanks for the heads up on the rules

emf : What you had is probably correct too. There are different ways of saying things in Irish as in any language.
Chailleamar an cluiche inné = We lost the match yesterday. This is a Munster form, but is also used by some speakers in other parts who are influenced by Munster Irish. Chaill muid an cluiche inné: this is a more standard form and the system that is used widely in schools to the best of my knowledge. Warning: Reasonable command of Irish - but I still make basic errors.

emf, no worries, we often have parents using the site on behalf of their children. In future, if you post your son's attempt, we'll be able to offer advice that is tailored to his level. There's usually many ways to say something, so by seeing what he came up with, we're more likely to use words and phrases that will be familiar to him. And if he's trying to say something that is just too complicated for the level of Irish that he has, we can suggest a simpler way that reinforces what he knows rather than simply giving him corrections that he doesn't understand.
