Hi there,
Im looking for a bit of help with a translation from english into Scots Gaelic as im planning to get a big ugly Maori tattoo done on my shoulder and I would like some Scots Gaelic inscribed. The inscription I would like to have reads "Scotland is the land of my heart" as I tend to wander and it feels appropriate! Anyway if anybody could assist me with a translation into Scots Gaelic I would greatly appreciate it. Ta Scott |

Scottish Gàidhlig has a stock way of setting up "X is Y" phrases with two nouns, with 's e ... a tha ann (with 's e being used regardless of the grammatical gender of the noun), so:
's e tìr mo chridhe a tha ann Alba It's hard to see in this font, but note that there is an accent over the "i" in tìr, slanting from upper left to lower right. I'm still a learner, so be sure to get input from others. |
