Hi again Tiarnan

Here's something I got from the Gaeltacht in Donegal - na scuaibeanna fada.

I have no idea how they arrive at that translation but It's used in Co Clare as well, I'm told.

Thanks again for your prompt response.

Lauretta

Hi Redwolf

Thought you'd like toknwothat scuaibeanna fada is what I got from the Gaeltacht in Donegal and also from someone in Co Clare.

Confusing isn't it?

Thanks again for your help.

Thats very possible. Plurals are variable from place to place and Dialect to dialect..Someone(Scooby?) said there were over 10 plurals listed for ubh (egg). Scuaba is whats given as standard in FGB, but some people prefer dialectical Irish.

Yeah, scuabanna is fine as well I'd say. It's widely used.

Long live variety.
Warning: Reasonable command of Irish - but I still make basic errors.
