Hello there, so how to start? Well i guess . . . to make a long story short, I'm writing a story. When I was young, my Great Gran told the fairy tales, "of the old country," as she used to say. Ever since then I've been obsessed with Ireland. About a year ago I found my Great Grans old journals filled with all her fables. Now after reading them all I can do is write. Its not that i need anything translated more like I need some names or words with a specific meaning that matches my characters. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Help . . . Okay so heres what I need. My tale of wow begins with a war between 8 clans. Each are skilled with magic in different forms using them for different purposes.

White Clan - The oldest of the factions. They are pure practitioners, skilled in many forms of magic, and try to keep the peace between them all. Some are more powerful then others and are born with a star birth mark. Those who are can conjure light, but for the most part the rest just tend to be psychic sensitives.

Orange Clan - Are the Wand makers. They have an eye for beautiful things and the souls of poets. They're re master spell casters as well, who have special children who can wield fire.

Green Clan - Obviously the healers who can commune with the flora and fauna. They can mix elixirs and potions of any kind.

Red Clan - A clan of enchanters with hypnotic voices like sirens. Basically Spell-singers. They can emit high frequency pitches that can boil blood or melodies that can take on a life of there own, even transmutate into forms of mythical beasts.

Purple Clan - Sorcerers that take a scientific rout in magic. I think term is Alchemist. They can manipulate energy or electricity if there born with an arrow shaped birth mark.

Yellow Clan - Warrior based magic. They can anoint any weapon and are trained in several martial arts. Moistly they work with water and can even manipulated it into Ice.

Blue Clan - I guess you could think of this clan as magical curators. The people in this clan either turn out to be collectors, who hunt it down like works of art or free spirited historians. As collectors they keep the more powerful ways to them selves and sell the little things to the biggest bidder. But as historians they take on a monk like freedom not bound to the rules of society. Either way they can influence air, wind, and breezes.

Indigo Clan - This clan are great with working with gems, crystals, and stone. Once upon a time there goodness rivaled the Wite clans. But soon they became mischievous with there craft. Turning into trickster and trouble makers. Then out of the blue certain children started to be born with a dagger shaped birth marks. These kids became destroyers, spreading chaos and misery. There magic became tainted and they now can influence darkness it self.

So thats what i need names for. If any body has any ideas or comments please write me back it would be much appreciated.

Anyway heres some i thought of

white clan - Muintir an Solais (people of the light)
green clan - Na Leigheasóirí (The Healers)

I think I'd use "muintir" rather than "clann" here.

I think that would be Muintir an tSolais
and I may agree with Redwolf here, although 'clann' can also mean 'clan'.

Using the Gaelic form for colors are pretty good! Hmm?

The names can be anything really as long as they fit the individual . . . ethnicity of the clan.

Lov'in "Na Leigheasóirí" but how the heck do u pronounce that. As its spelled? Or do i need to like roll my tongue? LOL

"Muintir" Lov'in that too! Same question . . .

Muintir would mean people as in a ethnicity or who have a common attachment (for want of a better word)
e.g. muintir na hÉireann - people of Ireland
muintir na háite - local people

otherwise it can mean family as in your WHOLE family (cousins, nephews, nieces etc.)

Prnounced roughly

Na Leigheasóirí - nah lay-as-oar-ee
