A Mhuintir Chiarraí agus a chairde go léir,
Tá áthas ó chroí orm gur ormsa atá an phribhléid seo i mbliana Sam a thabhairt thar-nais go dtí an Ríocht agus thar-nais go dtí an Ghaeltacht. Tá áthas faoi leith chomh maith gur ormsa a thit sé i mbliana mar tá mé an-sásta an Corn a thabhairt thar-nais go dtí an Ghaeltacht go dtí Corca Dhuibhne go dtí an mo mhuintir féin. Tá fear speisialta inniu a bhfuilim thar a bheith buíoch dó, ní gá dom a ainm a lú – Mick Dwyer. Ní dóigh liomsa gur bhfuil duine, in aon spóirt, i mbun bainistíochta, atá chomh maith le Mick Dwyer. Mar focail scóir ba mhaith liom chomh maith mo bhuíochas a ghabhail le Tommy Doyle a bhí ag imirt linn le Ciarraí Thiar, agus tá súil agam gur ag an ardán seo ag tíocht an bhliain seo chúinn a bheidh Tommy Doyle. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go lear. People of Kerry, and all friends, It is with heartfelt joy that I have been granted the privilege this year of bringing Sam back to the Kingdom and back to the Gaeltacht. I am especially happy that it [the privilege] fell onto me this year because I am very happy to bring the Cup back to the Gaeltacht, to Corca Dhuibhne, and to my own people. There is a special man that I am extremely grateful to today, I don’t have to mention his name – Mick Dwyer. I don’t think there is anybody, in any sport, in management, that is as good as Mick Dwyer. As a final word, I would also like to thank Tommy Doyle, who was playing with West Kerry. And I hope that Tommy Doyle will be on this platform next year. Thank you everybody ! The final paragraph -I'm not sure about "West Kerry". Did he mean the Minors? |

A Bhrímhór, táim díreach tar éis a diabhal rúd go léir a scríobh amach - ááá! saothar in aisce. Ar aon nós tá an jab déanta níos fearr agatsa mar bhí cúpla píosa nach rábhas féin ábalta a dhéanamh amach go cruinn.
I don't think the reference was to the minors - perhaps he should have been the Captain but was injured playing with West Kerry, one of the county senior teams? Warning: Reasonable command of Irish - but I still make basic errors.

A mhuintir Chiarraí agus a chairde go leir, Tá áthas ó chroí orm gur ormsa atá an phribléid i mbliana Sam a thabhairt thar n-ais go dtí na Ríocht agus thar n-ais go dtí an Ghaeltacht. Tá áthas ........ orm chomh maith mar gur ormsa a thit sé i mbliana mar táim ana-shásta an corn a thabhairt thar n-ais go dtí an ghaeltacht, go Corca Dhuibhne go dtí mo mhuintir féin. tá ......... speisíalta inniu....... tá sé? ana-bhaoch dó, ní gá dom a ainm a lua, Mick Dwyer. Ní dóigh liomsa a' bhfuil aon duine in aon spórt, atá i mbun bainistíochta, atá chomh maith le Mick Dwyer. Mar focal scoir ba mhaith liom chomh maith mo bhaochas a ghabháil le Tommy doyle a bhí ag imrt le..? le Ciarraighe Thiar. I'm really delighted that it is I who has the privelage this year of taking Sam back to the Kingdom and back to the Gaeltacht. I'm also delighted that it fallls to me this year because I'm thrilled to take the cup back to the gaeltacht to Corca Dhuibhne and to my own people. There is ..... special today, he? is very grateful to him, I don't need to mention his name - Mick Dwyer. I don't think there is any person in any sport involved in management who is as good as Mick Dwyer. As a perting word I would also like to thnk Tommy Doyle who was playing with West Kerry. And I hope that it's on this platform, come next year that Tommy Doyle may be. Maybe somebody else could clear up the few muffled bits I found difficult to make out exactly. This was my effort. Having read your more complete transcript; I can now hear clearly the few gaps I had missed. Warning: Reasonable command of Irish - but I still make basic errors.
