I worte this for my girlfriend. I am making her birthday present and would like what I wrote to be in Gaelic text. Someone please help.
Thanks Sean seanderrickson@yahoo.com
In my mind a painted picture worth unlimited words
this picture a beautiful sight, my girl, Maggie
hair long, red, wavy, and bright
shines in the sun’s shimmering light
eyes so very soft, seductive, grayish-blue
to look into is an unbeatable view
nose that is tiny small
the cutest one I ever saw
lips so smooth, gentle, lucius red
they speak out every word gently when said
to all of this that makes up the prettiest face
Attached to a gorgeous slender petite
that is such a sexy physique
this adds up to the way she is
always talks and moves up-beat
this is the outside that is covered by
skin that’s soft and smooth snow-white
then there is the other side the inside
and it is more beautiful then the outside
she is smart, intelligent, witty and sophisticated
that makes her as sharp as a flawless diamond
personality that is friendly, caring, loving, enthusiastic, cheerful
making her as pure as solid gold
all this wrapped in her soul in the most beautiful girl
that I will ever know, Maggie

Okay I don't like to be rude or anything, but what is the point? Why do you want this translated? It's a poem and hence very difficult and perhaps impossible to translate it so it sounds right in Irish without changing its syntax in which case it becomes the translator's poem.

If you made it say 4 lines then I might do it for you, but hey that's just me, maybe someone will do it for you.

Anyway, take care, hope she is all that you dreamed for! :)

Well, it doesn't really have a rhyme or meter to begin with, so translating it might improve it.

However, would she then be able to read and/or appreciate it?

If somebody sent me a love poem written in Swahili or Hindustani or something like that, my reaction would be "Gee, how awfully sweet, what the f*** does it mean and what am I supposed to do with it?"

It would be one thing if the author were familiar with the language and able to explain it to me and read it to me, but otherwise... :?

Maybe she speaks Irish? He doesn't say if she does or if she does not.

Ah, yeah... well, I typed stuff in shortly before your reply, but got distracted and forgot to push submit. :)

Gaelic text?

Would that be the Gaelic Font? See the link on Gaelic fonts if that's what you're looking for. We do like to help people here but it is awfully long and what would be the point in such a long translation if your special one cannot read Gaelic.

We could do a few lines for you or translate a message to go with it. I don't want people to come away from here disappointed.
