Cristíona wrote::lol: This reminds me a bit of a commercial that is running in our area ... it is some sort of Internet commercial.

The teacher asks the students to write a brief report about a historical President of the US. It shows a girl, probably around Conor's age or so sitting diligently at her computer. All the kids hand in their one page report ... she hands in this huge notebook including pictures. The teacher says she only asked for a small bit of information. The girl replies that a "condensed" version just didn't seem to do him justice ... and because the report was so long --- she even burned her a CD, which she, of course included. It's cute really. The teacher stands there dumbfounded.

Leave your teacher speechless, sweet Conor ! You go git em, Tiger !!

what age was the girl? i'm 13 (i like computers too, i built my own  )

She seemed to be around your age, sugar ... really. Early teens. She's cute as a button too ...

You built your own computer ??? I am truly impressed ! Thirteen is a lovely age. Believe it or not, I still remember a wee bit of that year. Keep those teachers on their toes, Conor !

Nice one Conor. An aimsir sin go leir in aon lá amháin. Sin Éirinn duit.

Remember though, at school, other kids don't like a smart aleck so be generous in your praise of others, even if you don't mean it.

it seems that even I know more irish than an average 13yrs old pupil, but when they'll reach my age, I'd be beaten.
Seo mo chur síos faoin aimsir na hEastóine:
Sa samhradh, tá sé te tirim grianmhar de gnách, ach tá sé ag cur báistí uaireanta freisin. Nuair a thagann an fómhar, tá sé ag cur tuilleadh báistí agus téann an teocht níos ísle anois. Tá an geimhreadh an-fhuar, a lán sneachta atá ann. Ba é -43,5 de réir Celsius an teas is ísle inár dtír é. Faoi deireadh, téann an ghrian níos airde sa spéir san earrach agus tá sé níos brothallaí arís.
Conor, what do you think, is this enough to get A?

Tá m'aistriúcháin ceart go hannamh.

definetly

cúpla rudaí beaga:

bcoz ur talking about the whole year's temperature generally and not yesterday, today or tomorrows weather etc. bíonn sé is better to use than tá sé

the other form of "gnach" is "gnáth" and this is generally what you use with "de" eg...de gnáth

coz it's sort of the "general year" and not past, present or future - the present form of the copula would be the better way to say it eg. Is é -43.5ºC

apart from that, ar fheabhas

I mBaile an tí mhoir, tá sé fuair chomh hard thóin bhaintaí uaigh.

I think that's right. I know someone will correct me if it's not. :lach:
