Could someone please give me a close translation for the following Japanese quote:

Masakatsu Agatsu = True Victory is Victory (or Mastery) Over Oneself

I would love to know if there is a close Gaelic translation of this.

Thank you!

Does anyone else have further input, or would that be the closest?

Ní bua go bua ort féin.
No victory until victory on yourself.

That's as close as you're gonna get, or maybe:

Is fíor-bhua é an bua ort féin.
Victory on yourself is true victory.

Closer to your original, but Seán's is better Irish.

(or anything else I state as a fact)

I think this is pretty close as a translation:

Féin Bhua, Bua Iomlán

iomlán means total or complete, so the above translates pretty closely.

Self victory (is) complete victory.

(1) I'm not so sure about that (2) this topic is a year old anyway.
