Would someone please find it in there kind loving hearts to translate the following into irish/gaelic for a tattoo in tribute to a fallen loved one?
"Drink to the dead all you still alive we shall join them in good time should you go crossing that silvery brook its best to leap before you look"
Thank you so much to all those who can help me out with this.
Cheers.-Baub

This doesn't rhyme and is not terribly poetic, but it's what you asked for:
Drink to the dead, all you still alive. we shall join them in good time should you go crossing that silvery brook its best to leap before you look"
Ólaigí do na mairbh, sibhse atá beo fós Beimid leosan faoi cheann trátha bhig Dá rachfá trasna na habhann airgid sin B’fhearr dhuit a léim sula bhféachann tú

hows 'bout
Ólaigí do na mairbh, sibhse atá fós beo
Os i gcionn tamaill bhig - beimid leo
Dá rachfá trasna na habhann airgid siúid
B’fhearr dhuit a léim sula bhféachann tú
It's a job that's never started that takes the longest to finish.

Good idea, Pól. A little more tweaking:
Ólaigí do na mairbh, sibhse atá fós beo Ós i gcionn tamaill bhig a bheimid leo Dá mbeifeá chun an abhainn a thrasnú B’fhearr dhuit a léim sula bhféachann tú
Tightening it up a little more, and we have complete rhyme and a reasonable meter!

Do you know what it is
The Irish versions of some of the translations here end up 100 times better than the original English

I probably got it wrong - but that was my idea
