I just got new plates because this is the year MI changes their plates. Just because, I decided to get a custom plate (MI only has one). My plate says CODHOIT. You may notice that it doesn't spell anything, because there isn't a fada. There was another coversation earlier this year about legal stickers that can be added to your plate. The lady at Sec. of State never heard of them. Can anyone help me out with manufacturer name, website, whatever you have? My first instinct was to add a piece of electrical tape, since the letters are black, but someone said that's not legal. Does anyone know?

I've never heard of someone putting that on their car, and I'm sure it depends on what state says what, but I'd doubt it's legal; the State loves to tell u you can't do anything...(anti-authority much? lol yeah sometimes)

Just use permanent marker. If they say anything, say it's dirt. :lach:

What's it supposed to say, btw?

I'll put a subtle smudge on it and see what happens. I don't know whether they have computers in jail, but I'll try to let you know how this turns out.

My son laughs when he sees it, and calls me Cod-hoyt. When I told him what it said, I mentioned it was missing a fada. Earlier this year, I told him his name was missing a fada, and was pronounced shan. I told him it meant old, and he pretended to be upset. Now, he said, we're both missing a fada and can both be mispronounced. I really need to smudge my plate!

Well, then again....in Ulster Irish there is very little audible difference between fadas and the fada-impaired

Hey Springpaw,

I would use a little piece of electical tape to make the fada. I don't think anyone will hassle you about it. Besides you can always play innocent.
