Thanks to this site I've found the translation for the English word, but actually, it's a difficult word for anyone not familiar with Irish Gaelic.

A friend of mine is thinking of starting an Irish pub in The Netherlands. Sine her name is "Renate", which means "reborn" of course, I thought it would be a great name for a pub. So I'm looking for a translation for

"Renate's"

really, but with a less difficult word. Is there a suitable alternative for "Athbheirtha's", anyway?

Hope someone can help me with this, it will be greatly appreciated!

Also

Uisce Beatha is the Irish for -intoxicating drink (from where Whiskey it got its name -)

Uisce beatha means water of life -and means alcoholic beverages

Apeiron - great name...

from Anaxemander, right? or was it his brother Anaxamenes(sp.?)?

-Everything is Apeiron- was the quote, I remember
Is é Christian Stoehr mo chroí

I kinda like Beatha Nua because it's closest to the meaning of Renate and it's shorter. Less to reprint on napkins, matchbooks, etc. :

Just my 2 cents.

Thank you all so much! I like them all... I'll let Renate choose. :D

Yes, Apeir0n is indeed the name of the philosopher, and I believe it was Anaximander. It's been a while since I read about it, so I can be mistaken. Apeiron means infinity.

I spell it differently though, with a zero substituting the o (just to make the name unique over the internet... I've never seen another Apeir0n).

Thanks everybody!

'Athghinte' is another possibility (but with a suggestion of 'born-again' in the Christian sense)

(it also means 'regenerated' and I suppose could be applied to Doctor Who :) )

BTW, the correct spelling of the word you suggested yourself is 'athbheirithe' (which might also suggest the Christian sense of 'born-again')
Beatha teanga í a labhairt,
buanú teanga í a scríobh.
(neafaisiú teanga í a thatuáil?)
