Hello,
I have been searching for the gaelic translation for the word "Rejoice"...or a very similar word. Can anyone help me with this? Many thanks!

This is a very tricky one though it seems simple. There is no one word for "rejoice" as in the English verb of which the imperative form I think you are trying to translate. The closest I can get is: déan ollghairdeas faoi. I'll try to break that down. Déan is the verb for do/make, ollghairdeas is a word meaning great rejoicing or jubliation but the word itself is a construction of oll, a prefix meaning great, probably the verb gair meaning call or aclaim and deas which depending on usage can be nice or good; faoi is a prepositional pronoun and I'm not even going to try to go there in this post
EOIN: What do you think? Is this in the right direction? |
