Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are in the process of building a house and are looking for a name for it to put on a plaque. We are after something that is nice flowing (to say) and not too harsh on the tongue. For example, we love the sound of (please excuse the spelling) Arraluen or Arralewin meaning place of Water Lilies (if that is true at all), but there are no liles there so it would be a lie...

Could you please help with the following translations:

Place/House of Prosperity
Place/House of Safety
Peaceful Sanctuary
Place/House of Hope
The Safe House
Place/House of Peace

Any other suggestions along these ideas would be gratefully accepted.

Mystery solved! Apparently the word is in an Australian Aboriginal language (none of which, unfortunately, do I know.)

Hi, Nathan a chara, my cousin just qualified as a Medical Doctor in Oz Interesting Cricket team ye have. Any way the names you were looking seem to have been forgotten.
Try Áit aoibhinn AWtch EVEing, It means a'' beautifull peacefull happy place'' I have seen it on houses before.
Now in Kerry there was a house with the wind measuring device on top the locals called it '' Tig na gCupán '' House of the Cups. Arragh na pogue came to mind with the abboriginal names you gave, Christy
