I'm no expert bu I think Happy birthday is written
Lá Bhreithe Shona duit instead of Lá Bhreithe Sona dhuit It's like when you say Dia duit, it's pronounced like dhuit (guit) but spelt duit. Also I have seen Nollaig Shona instead instead of Nollaig Sona. It's got to do with cases I think. My question is can anybody tell me the case and the gender of Lá or of Nollag?  |

Lá is masculine, so no lenition is needed there
Nollag is feminine, so that's why it's Breithlá Sona but Nollaig Shona the question of Duit or Dhuit is a dialect difference, as far as the lads here have told me Is é Christian Stoehr mo chroí
