"Good" is one of the (very few) irregular adjectives in Irish: the comparative doesn't look anything like the basic form.
maith - good
níos fearr - better
is fearr - best
(Fortunately it's also one of the most common, so you soon get used to it!)
I don't like being compared to other people too much though. How about cócaireacht (cooking) vs. ní na soithí (washing the dishes)?

In general I think you're "níos fearr chuig" activities instead of "ag" them. I'm not entirely sure, though. Does anybody know?
