song lyrics for ALTAN (thanks to Lynn) might help you learn some pronunciation, if you have some of their songs, the english translation is there as well. I am posting this as I thought it might help me out, so maybe it will work for you as well...

hi there,

I have a website about Irish language, music and dance. There's not a lot of info about Irish language yet, but still I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, corrections etc. This goes for the other subjects as well (music and dance).
the address is www.geocities.com/andrea_clannad

thanks!

Andrea

This is a *great* site if you need a country's name in Irish and cannot find it anywhere! :ja:

http://www.cnds.ucd.ie/~seoc/ICU/countries-ga-list.html

And this other one also allows you to choose your country where you live (in Irish only), again with *many* options...
http://www.heritageireland.ie/ie/AnLeabharCuairteoiri/

However, should you need regional names like Galicia (as I once did), you're out of luck! :(

Tá mé ag foghlaim i gcónaí. With translations, it is best to wait for someone more adept than I to confirm.

Another excellent resource. This focuses presently on Progress in Irish

http://www.philo-celtic.com

I hope this is not a redundant post.

I just found out about this site at North Texas Irish Festival from a person down from Chicago.

Another one that I find to be fun as well as educational is

www.byki.com/Irish

It's flashcards on the computer and has a free version which is good for beginners and refresher
