Hey,
I was wondering if someone could assist me in translating a phrase properly?(Sorry I am sure you guys get alot of these questions)
I am trying to translate...
"Holding on to what I desire"
But I am not sure on the proper translation of holding, or whether I have the sentence phrased correctly. I have...
Cum air du cia mi mian
...I'm sure that's way off. I'm fairly new to the language still, so any help is appreciated.

One way to say it would be
Ag coinneáil greim ar cad is mian liom
It's a job that's never started that takes the longest to finish.
