Dia Daoibh,

Since this is a Gaelic language site, is anyone interested in a thread where we all try to post something "As Gaeilge". Even if you know only "cúpla focal" ( A few words), be brave and integrate them into your English.

Perhaps, some of the more fluent members will help to improve some of the not great Irish we post.

Choose whatever subject you want to say a few words about and please try to keep it clean Anyone up for it??

In English:Someone gave me this quiz today. I thought you might enjoy the questions. All the answers are places in Ireland.
To help you, quite a few (though not all) relate to places in Ulster.

Ok, there are 20 questions in the quiz, but I'll start off with only 10. If you want the rest let me know and I'll post them. The questions are cryptic and I've told you the number of letters in each.

I'm starting with the ones I think are easier for those unfamiliar with Ireland.

As for the place names

In my last year at College I was voted student most likely to succeed in identifying cryptic Irish placenames posted by a Siobhán on an Irish language forum.

But I give up

Corvus, no the answers do't have to be " as Gaeilge" but try to use a single word, perhaps in the reply EG fáilte

I'm working on this, is number 8 Accord? It's the only french word I see in Ulster County?

I wanted people to be comfortable posting a little in the Irish they know. If you want to introduce a concept/theme please feel free.

As for those place names, mo náire thú you should be able to get at least one!

Tá brón orm. I am sorry. When I said Ulster i meant the province of Ulster, in Ireland. to help you, think of what the French word for town is and then prefix it with the normal word you'd use for cutting the grass/lawn.
