I made an Irish friend who e-mailed me and I can't figure out. I would appreciate any help translating. I did it word by word and it doesn't make any sense.
NACH ALLAINN AN CAILIN THU!
SLAN GO FOILL AGUS NA BI ROMH DANA.
DO CHARA NUA DONNCHA.
Thanks for your help.

A Shile,
Word for word translations often don't work too well. Basically what your friend is saying is:
NACH ÁLLAINN AN CAILÍN THÚ!
What a nice/lovely girl you are!
SLÁN GO FÓILL AGUS NÁ BÍ ROMH DÁNA.
Bye for now - and don't be too bold/naughty.
DO CHARA NUA DONNCHA.
Your new friend, Donncha.
Note: Irish people will use the word 'bold' in place of naughty/cheeky and other similar words. We don't mean brave!
