Hello,

I am writing a short story (in dutch because I am dutch  ) with elements from the Celtic mythology.
I would like to add a few Gaelic sentences to give it an extra dimension. Could someone try to translate the following sentences into Gaelic?

"I have crossed centuries only to find you, my love."

"Come with me across oceans of time, to live for eternity in Tir na n-Og. For now I found you, I will not let you go again"

"Who are you then, stranger?"

"My name is Niamh, daughter from Manannan Mac Lir and queen of Tir na n-Og. Do your not recognise me, my love?"

"Oisin truly lives within you."

"Farewel, kind stranger. Maybe we will meet again."

Thank you very much...

Thrasnaigh mé na céadta chun tusa a aimsiú, mo sheacht mh'anam.

"Come with me across oceans of time, to live for eternity in Tir na n-Og. For now I found you, I will not let you go again"

Tar liom thar aigeain ama, chun maireachtáil go sioraí i dTír na nÓg. Anois agus tú aimsithe agam, ní ligfidh mé uaim duit aríst.

"Who are you then, stranger?"
Cé tusa mar sin, a bhean uasal?

"My name is Niamh, daughter from Manannan Mac Lir and queen of Tir na n-Og. Do your not recognise me, my love?"

Niamh Cinn Óir is ainm dom, iníon Mhannanán Mhic Lir agus banríon Thír na nÓg. Nach aithníonn tú mé, mo chéadshearc?

"Oisin truly lives within you."
Maireann Oisín taobh istigh ionat.

"Farewel, kind stranger. Maybe we will meet again."

Slán, a dhuine cinéalta. B'fheidir go mbualfaimid le chéile aríst.

BTW, I can't help thinking I've seen this story before somewhere......

True.
This is the legend of Niamh, who fell in love with the bard Oisin.
Oisin returned to Ireland and died. My story continues with Niamh, searching for her love. She finds someone that looks like Oisin.

Thank you for the translations. You' ve helped me a lot.

Sounds like a few lines from Bram Stoker's Dracula. In the movie when the Count finds Mina in London, he tells her something of that nature. "I have crossed oceans of time to find you" eh Patrice?
Beidh ár lá linn.......go luath!!

I'm a beginner. Wait for more input with my translations.

I believe you would be hard pressed to find a more seductive, erotic story than that of Dracula. The story of someone not only wanting to share this life with only you, but eternity as well. The means of "sharing" yourself via your own life's blood---that is pretty compelling.

The old stories in Literature are really the best ones! What about our dear Jane Eyre the little nubile teenager who falls in love with a man whose wife is a psycho he's kept hidden away for years. She not only burns his castle to the ground, but blinds him in the process. Jane comes back to him though.

I'm not a fan of romantic stories (there is a reason they call them fiction) but they present some interesting characters!
