im just starting to learn gaelic because i hope to spend some time in ireland this summer, i met a man the other day who told me to get this translated. he wrote it down for me and it goes as follows.......
"Slan leat agus go raibh mil a math agat!"
Can anybody help with the translation please.

The spelling of that phrase is a wee bit out. The correct spelling, in case you are interested, would be
Slán leat agus go raibh míle maith agat
