I am looking to translate the meaning of the name siobhan in to gaelic. The problem is, everywhere I go, I am getting a different meaning. I would appreciate the translation of these top three answers that I have found: fair spirit, gift of god, and god is gracious. Also if anyone can give me a direct answer as to which is the correct meaning, that would be great.

Hottbocks, sorry I don't know the meaning behind the meaning of the name. I've heard it's "Gift from God" but I'm really not sure. Wait to see if others know more about it!

bipole!

Siobhán,

as far as I know your name is the Gaelic version of Joan. Yhe transaltion of 'gift from God' is 'beart ó Dhia'.
