Hope you don't mind - I "borrowed" your most recent translation to caveat my grandfather's quote (he had many - all of them wise and very Irish). He passed years ago in his late 70's but not a day goes by a quip in a heavy brogue doesn't come to mind to keep me on track (Now lad - it's a poor workman what blames his tools... etc)

Just stumbled on this site today after years of trying to learn Gaelic out of books (with absolutely no progress  ) - Reading the various posts I can tell I'll be spending a lot of time here - you guys are fantastic!
... if its the fishing your after, boy-o, and not the fish, you can have a grand time in a bath tub... (John James 'Jot' McNamee - Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam)
