Does anyone know of a word in either Irish or Scottish Gaelic that means something like 'strong' or 'never defeated' but sounds really cool when you say it? thanks
"Láidir" is good. There's also "Tréan" (strong man/warrior/champion).
I have no idea what you mean by "sounds really cool when you say it" though. That's kind of subjective, don't you think? I had a teacher in high school once who mentioned that she thought the loveliest-sounding word in Irish was "agus"...and she was quite chagrined to discover that it only means "and."

I am the only member of my entire family born in New Zealand (family is from Hawick and Galashiels. Amos and middlemass) and i want a tattoo with real meaning. I want this phrase 'Never Conquered' for obvious historical reasons. Can anyone translate 'Never Conquered' for me?
