This may have been posted already - if so - A thousand apologies

Here's a petition requesting that the Irish language be recognised on the national soccer strip. The aim is to replace the existing ‘Rep. of Ireland’ with ‘Éire’ and to have the names of the nations playing Ireland in the future to be ‘as Gaeilge’ on the Irish players’ jerseys.

Meh... the Soccer strip for the so called "Republic of Ireland" soccer team. Éire refers to the whole Island of Ireland... what does the poor team for the 6 North Eastern Disenchanted counties do?

Lose every game they play, force out their only good player with loyalists death threats but they do give the scum bags in the north something to do besides drinking buckfast outside the local off license. They get to drink buckfast at a football match instead :P

But isn't "Éire" also the official name of the country known in English as "The Republic of Ireland"? That's definitely what it says on the postage stamps!

Wait for at least two confirmations or corrections on this/these translations. Completion of a good translation may take time. Go ra' ma'ad.
