Yeah, I drifted out of the S&M of haiku. It was a cleansing thing for a while. I tried to express reactions to events here as a way of relief - like taking a piss on the PM's lawn - a great deal of satisfaction in it really.
tá sí ar ais 'rís leis an gáire deas uirthu is le deadhéanamh
she's come back again the girl with the wicked smile and body to match
Haha! You always know how to make my day brighter
Pleased to meet you, take my hand. There is no way back from here.

aire duit a mhuirnín b'fhéidir go n-éireoidh tú caoch le mo ghilese
watch out my dearest
the brightness i bring to you
may make you go blind
This poem has been slated for the annals of "Cornball Haiku", yet to be published by an unknown (and ultimately embarrassed) publisher.

lena gruaig dhaoldubh cheap mé gur fiach dubh í féin a' coimeád súil ghéar orm
with her jet-black hair
i thought she was a raven
watching over me

nuair a féachaim idir an dá shúil ort tá Dia é féin ann
when i look between
the two eyes that are on you
God Himself is there

i dtír phianmhar is féidir le rí falsa cibé is maith leis
in a land of pain

can do what he likes

bhris tine amach agus bhíomair inár suí an toradh a fheiceáil
as fire rages through
we all sit back and wait to
see what will happen

Deora anuas as tachrán bocht gan ghobán. Múchtar an tine.
A cascade of tears
from a child with no soother.
Fire extinguished.
My Irish is good and my translations are pretty reliable. However, to get the most accurate and "natural" translation, the opinion of a native speaker is invaluable. Anything else is just second best.
Bhí stócach do mo mhealladh faoi sholas na ré, "Bain triail as cainteoir dúchais, is fearrde thú é", Do ghlacas lena chuireadh is a Dhia na bhFeart, Bréag ní raibh ann, is chuile ball de i gceart, Más rud é gur fearr leat an obair is cruinne, Téigh leis an té ag a bhfuil an teanga is binne.

ní raibh na deora ar son saoirse na hÉireann gan pian ana-mhór
o the endless tears
for the freedom of Ireland
were not shed in vain
