Once you post your request, typically a few beginners will attempt the translation. Then perhaps someone more advanced will point out a grammar error in the first translation. Then someone who is fluent or near-fluent will give the thumbs-up :zustimm: :gut: on one of the translations. So don't take the first answer; wait until we've had a chance to discuss it a bit.

If you don't get a confirmation after a while :help: , post a follow-up to your own message to bump up the priority of the thread. Do this in the same thread by clicking on the Post Reply button. Do not start a new thread because that just starts the discussion all over again, with a new group of people who haven't had the benefit of seeing the previous discussion. :vielposten:

:schlaumeier: Sorry, we will not do your homework for you. :( Some of the regulars on this forum are teachers, and they can spot a homework assignment at a hundred yards! If you want help with an assignment, your best bet is to (1) state up front that it's an assignment, and (2) include your best attempt at translation. Then usually one of us will give you some tips on how to improve it.

Your request may be one we've already answered. Check out the Frequent translations link at left for an instant answer :magic:

1) Political posts aren't forbidden, but may be locked if the administrator or a moderator thinks they are beginning to degenerate, or if a significant number of complaints have been received about the thread.

2) If you think a thread has been locked inappropriately, you may appeal to the administrator Eoin (click here for his Profile) via PM or email (info@irishgaelictranslator.com). His decision is final.

3) Please don't post a new request in the middle of an existing discussion. Instead, first do a forum search to see if your question has already been addressed and, if not, use the "New Message" button to start your own thread. Posting a comment or question related to the discussion at hand is perfectly fine.
