Hmm. "Aoibheann" would be pronounced more or less like "even." If I wanted to Hibernicize "Yvonne" I'd prolly spell it "Íbheán" or something like that.

I think this is an Irish name that sounds like a non-Irish name, so they get equated as "translations."

Aoibheann is pronounced something like the russians pronounce Ivan (short i)-van or by some EVV-in sometime anglicised as Evan as in the poet Evan Boland

It is an Irish name (quite popular actually)and means 'blissful one'
