My original post in this thread was surely entirely appropriate to a forum which patently does not restrict itself to translation only. There are plenty of pages of levity & bonhommie (and very acceptable they are too!!!), which wander very great distances from matters of translation.

This is primarily an Irish translation forum nonetheless. Drawing attention to the gobsmacking fact that the website of the Irish Government is indulging in the most insulting and demeaning pretence of bilingualism is surely of relevance to the spirit of this forum. Outrage will surely be felt by all who want to see Irish exist in the real world now & not just in a parallel cyberworld (or "Microsoft" afterlife).

I figured that the Dáil's reprehensible hypocrisy in this matter should be made as public as possible. I figured that folk on this forum would be in complete solidarity with my anger at this humiliating treatment of Irish. I figured that posting to this forum was one way of communicating with people who feel passionate about the Irish language & that there might hopefully follow some well-honed & well-aimed public feedback to the Dáil.

I do therefore encourage all who read this to check out the Dáil website for yourself (URL on first post in this thread). Just consider what calculatedly cynical mindset came up with the linguistic formula for that website. Please use their website menu to find the appropriate contact addresses & make your views known!
