Here in Or-eh-gone, hehe  , we have a new line of plates that just came out last year, so far I've seen some stupid-looking Crater Lake plate and some other dirt-brown coloured one, but they both have these letters on the side of 'em that make them look like handicapped and utility vehicles. The old ones were the generic pine-tree plates (uhhgg), Oregon Trail plates (whoopie), and those dumb-arse salmon plates(aaahhhhccckkk)

*sigh* why can't I live in a normal state

Ahh, see, now that's a normal-looking plate...it doesn't have some dead-looking fish on it.

The new licence plates don't lend themselves much to customisation http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/1513779.stm

well us treehuggers and hicks in NC have the "Save the Smokies" plates. my question is: how can you save, or not save, a mountain range???? at least you're on the west coast and could possibly get to a civilised region of the country in a reasonable amount of time. i can't. north carolina is quite, well, uncivilised.
ALWAYS get a second opinion on anything I, or anyone else, attempt to translate or transliterate.
I speak Connacht Irish, so some things I write, translate, or transliterate may be non-standard.

Nahh, we're a bunch of tree huggers too!! The whole point of the Salmon plates was, well, to "save the Salmon!" I'll show you how to save the bloody Salmon, hmm, now where did my tackle-box and rod go to??

I like our choices:

Mine is the ninth one down, I think...it looks nicer in real life because you can see the pretty orange poppies.

Yeh, yours look really nice, I wouldn't mind having one of those:

Here's what we get:

http://www.odot.state.or.us/dmv/Vehicle ... mplePlates

Don't be fooled though, they don't really look like that after they're on the car. The Crater Lake one ends up looking like the really, really old blue ones we used to have with the yellow letters/numbers. The Cultural one just looks like a blob of brown scunge got smeared over our generic yellow. While the Pine tree and the salmon (uhhg) are almost indescipherable from one another!! :lach:

I still have the Oregon trail plate, it was the only one that came out looking halfway normal; naturally it's the only one they quit printing
