You could also get the CDs "Éist" and "Éist Arís", to get a variety of singers with different styles. All of the lyrics are in Irish.

I have a greatest hits CD called "The Songs" but you could listen into the songs on Amazon I think to see if you like one more than another

"Best of Altan: The Songs" has alot of stuff in Irish, bits and pieces in English, but mainly Irish. "Blue Idol" is also pretty good, but it has more intrumentals on in that anything else; but I definitely suggest the first, it's one of my favourites and it spans over their good albums, including the Blue Idol

"the blue idol" is also quite good. it has "cuach mo lon dubh buí" and "an cailín deas óg", both of which are great songs as Gaeilge.

I third the Altan "Songs" CD. Another decent one is Karan Casey's "Songlines," but that has fewer songs in Irish.

One thing I definitely prefer about "The Blue Idol," though...it has "An Cailín Deas Óg" in Irish. While the song is also on the "Songs" album, it's in English only, and is that obnoxious version with Dolly Parton singing the second verse (that one's on Blue Idol too, but you can skip it in favor of the Irish version, which only has Mairéad singing).
