I would suggest you start by attending a class, if you can find one in your area. Once you know you're going to stick with it, save up to attend an intensive course in the Gaeltacht. Also, use your Irish as much as you can... get creative in finding ways to practice.

If there was a class available and accessable when I first started learning Irish, I would've jumped at the opportunity. Instead, i took it very slow, and began teaching myself in 4 hour incriments. study study study.... Yah, take classes if the opportunity is available. :D

hey a question to you Irish/Gaelic speakers, when you speak english now that you can speak irish, do you find yourself speaking in an irish accent for english words and phrases? that'd be cool ;D

I've got a Welsh accent when I speak English. (He he!)

My Irish is not very good, but I have kickass Welsh! I don't make mistakes in Welsh.
