Well folks, I will give learning Irish a try, but I am not sure at this old age what the brain can absorb. I do enjoy reading the posts and it seems that many out there are having a great time learning.

Learning helps keep the brain young, a chara!

Thank you Mhwombat. I used this technique while learning French. It does work and greatly improves vocabulary.

Thank you for a very well-put together guide, sirs and ma'ams. Irish is a beautiful language and it's fascinating to hear it spoken. I will add this language to the list that I'm teaching myself.

Also, Ireland is a wonderful place. Nine days is much too short a time to spend there.

Kippis!

The labels idea was recommended by my son's Spanish teacher. We now have a house labeled in Spanish, French (my other son) and Irish.

I don't know if there are any irish tabloids, but if they do exist: BUY THEM!! I do this myself to keep up with my spanish. Tabloids are not so complicated and most of the stuff that's written in there you will probably know already which makes it easier to understand what the story is about.
