Luckily I did my LC after this was taken off the curriculum, but I've heard all the horror stories!
I remember it well
The first time that I saw
Your head round the door
Cos mine stopped working

Hehe you lucky aul divil a Mhurchaidh ;D Old womens' recollections and teenagers are not a good mix - the wealth of the language left us non-plussed - but hey, look at me now: I drive the school bus ;D :nein:
Once, as a child, out in a field of sheep/Thomas Hardy pretended to be dead/And lay down flat among their dainty shins.
In that sniffed-at, bleated-into, grassy space/He experimented with infinity/His small cool brow was like an anvil waiting
For sky to make it sing the prefect pitch/Of his dumb being, and that stir he caused/In the fleece-hustle was the original
Of a ripple that would travel eighty years/Outward from there, to be the same ripple/Inside him at its last circumference.

I 'borrowed' the picture from the picture gallery of
http://www.kennys.ie/ - it's an fear marbh, Inis Tuaisceart :)

Those are great ideas for learning Wombat - I'd like to see Caighdean Irish being taught to age 15 or so and then living Gaeltacht Irish added - the fact that it's living now would surely be able to spark a youngster's interest more successfully. Programs like yours are the kind of thing the education boards should seize IMHO.

Good shtuff
